The Laundry Mat

Frank’s Corner Coin Laundry

It’s been a LONG time since I had to use a laundry mat. Well this past week I had a reminder. Let me tell you it was work! Not cheap either. With 3 tall baskets and one short it took most of the two rolls of quarters I brought. Luckily I could dry them at home.

Most every day I pass Frank’s Corner. It’s small and clean located just across the street from McDonald’s. The selection for different washer load sizes are available. I used two of the triple machines for towels and jeans. Two double machines for color clothes and ending with a single washer for the few whites I had with me.

It was after I loaded the machines that I thought of taking the images. You can see me in the reflection of the door taking the pic. After the clothes were washed and loaded up, I visited the McDonald’s drive thru for ice cream! No pic of that…..

Fall Leaves

Fall Leaves

We have had such a beautiful fall this year. I carry my “g’ma camera” most every day with me. Being inside all day becomes rather stuffy. I enjoy getting into the car and driving just around the corner from work, getting away from the office for lunch. It was during this break that I took this portrait. Every day I pass these trees. How beautiful they are!

Here’s another image of a fallin tree.

Kevin went hunting with the guys this weekend. I was home alone Friday evening. While I was working in the office, I heard this loud bang sound. Like someone breaking down the front door loud sound. I was scared! After a bit of time, I thought it must have been the wind- it was blowing rather hard. Well the next morning I was packing the car up with camera equipment to go meet a client for their family session that I saw one of our pine trees knocked over. We have three pine trees in our yard that have died but still standing. Kevin mentioned he was going to be dragging them down to the pond. With the winds blowing, the loud sound I heard was this tree falling. We were lucky it never hit the side of the house!

October Happenings │A Fun Month!

October was a fun month for this g’ma!

My new car!

First let me say, I really like my new car! Doesn’t this look like a grandma car? It’s a big little car. I sit up higher than a small car. It’s an AWD. It’s quiet, smells good and besides- it’s just plain cool!

Seriously- for the amount I can afford, Honda provided me with more options for the price. Kevin took me to so many different dealerships. We test drove just about every compact SUV- new and used. I had it narrowed down to the Ford Escape and the Honda CRV. We spoke with both companies and they offered us their bottom dollar. After much thought, I decided for Honda. Two weeks later we went back to Honda and made another inquiry. We were offered an even better deal. I was ready to buy! Approximately 3.5 hours later I drove my new g’ma car home.

If you are looking for a new or used vehicle, I recommend Adam at O’Neill Honda. Generally I would not push a car salesman onto any one person. They did not hound me plus they gave me a good deal. Very pleasant buying experience.

More fun happenings this month included Alicia introducing me to her friend, Ryan. Of course I just had to ask for a pic. Alicia was thrilled (actually a bit embarrassed). Both were very good sports!

And of course we had Halloween. Work stopped having the Halloween contest. Too bad cuts have affected even the smallest team positive builders. BUT there were a handful who still dressed up and made our day!
