Grandma’s Exercise Plan

Hi, yes- you heard right. I am in the process of creating a simple grandma’s exercise plan. After accepting the customer service position at work, I am now sitting for 8 to 10 hours during the day. Needless to admit, but….. I have gained a few pounds. Sigh. In the past, I have had jobs that required moving and standing on my feet for most of the day. Throughout the years, dieting has never really worked for me. It was during my younger years that I tried an exercise routine that produced the best results. I was able to continue eating the same yet my waist was thinning and I felt great. My plan must be simple.

About grandma’s exercise plan.

Grandma’s exercise plan will consist of walking 30 minutes a day four days of the week at the Parks and Recreation Center not too far from where I work. Then one weekend day I will choose some place near my home to walk. We live on approx. 20 acres, so I could walk outside down to the pond or even drive up to the local school and walk the track. The third day will be my treat- to choose a different location. Did I mention the parks and rec exercise room is free? Well it is! Take a look at the center below.

The rec center has a gym for basketball, pool tables, the weight room and a room you can reserve for meetings or parties. Okay now for the tour inside.

Today I walked my first 30 minutes. What a great feeling it was after I finished. My thoughts were to make a post once a month letting you know of my progress. Be sure to check back to see the results!

Grandma’s Exercise Plan Objective

Be active! As I mentioned earlier, this has to be easy and simple to be successful. My goal is to be able to walk without huffing and puffing. And if by chance I lose weight, all the better!

Do you have an exercise plan that you follow? What exercises do you do to get and stay in shape?

Best Wishes,

The Laundry Mat

Frank’s Corner Coin Laundry

It’s been a LONG time since I had to use a laundry mat. Well this past week I had a reminder. Let me tell you it was work! Not cheap either. With 3 tall baskets and one short it took most of the two rolls of quarters I brought. Luckily I could dry them at home.

Most every day I pass Frank’s Corner. It’s small and clean located just across the street from McDonald’s. The selection for different washer load sizes are available. I used two of the triple machines for towels and jeans. Two double machines for color clothes and ending with a single washer for the few whites I had with me.

It was after I loaded the machines that I thought of taking the images. You can see me in the reflection of the door taking the pic. After the clothes were washed and loaded up, I visited the McDonald’s drive thru for ice cream! No pic of that…..

Meet Alicia

I have had the pleasure of meeting Alicia. She is the newest person in our office. What a fun young lady! Her favorite color is green. Running is a stress relief for Alicia and she enjoys it! So much so that she brings in a bag full of food she is eating throughout the day. That’s all the more reason I should keep up with my walking endeavors- so I can eat more, NOT! That will be another post- my walking exercise experiences 🙂

The Sony Nex 5N was the camera (my g’ma camera) I used to take the images. Please note: I was in g’ma mode and not paying alot of attention to my shadows. Looking at these images I should have turned Alicia so the shadows were not so heavy on her face, under the eyes or used the flash.

The picture grouping above shows the collage I made with Fotofusion V5. There is a comparison chart detailing the difference between the Enhanced and Extreme versions. This is the software I use for my photography business and personal images. The Extreme version is the one I use. So easy. Book design and holiday card design are just two items I use the software for.
