Visiting Phoenix

Hi, I had the time of my life while visiting family in Arizona. This trip was much needed. My Auntie P invited me to come stay with her. She asked me how long I wanted to stay. Hmm…..I was thinking, how long could I stay before my welcome wore out?! 🙂 Hesitantly I requested three full days. My Aunt said okay and the trip was a total of 5 days- day 1 travel, three days in AZ and the fifth day travel home. Her home is best described as a resort- no kidding!

This is the beautiful room where I spent four nights resting peacefully!

And the pool/hot tub was gorgeous.

Phyllis and Jeff kept me busy the whole time. Several times they asked what I wanted to do or see. Just being there, away from my everyday normal life was entertaining. The main souvenir I wanted from this adventure was a sweatshirt and a silver ring. Of course all the many images I took would be a treasure as well.

When I think of this trip, I will remember the quality time I shared with my Aunt Phyllis and Jeff in Phoenix and all the cactus. So many everywhere. I had no idea. I truly had the time of my life- thank you Aunt P!

Many more images here.

A Fan of Different Colors

My office was once my son’s bedroom. This room is not a large one; just 9′ by 12′ not including the closet. It’s rather quaint. Many times and hours I have spent here. It was just the other night I was lying in the middle of the floor waiting for an image gallery to upload to the server that I actually saw this view of the ceiling fan. And I wondered how many times my son as a child did the very same thing.

By the red paddle you will see the football hanging down from the fan. When Adam (my son) was using this room he was young and short. For him to be able to turn the paddles on and off, the chain length needed to be extended. He just thought this was cool having the football at the end of the chain! Memories now but each time I think of them it seem’s just like yesterday. How time passes. Yes, I have heard others say the very same. But- boy, how time fly’s is an under statement.

Be sure to grab your camera and take those photos of the everyday stuff. As time fly’s, it will be those small things that will be very precious memories in the years to come.

June 3-7 Random Images

2013-06-08_0001

During the first week of June I took these images that were interesting to me. The Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger is my favorite sandwich from Wendi’s. The image of the chairs was taken while at McDonald’s. As I was eating I couldn’t help but notice how the light from the window and overhead made the chairs look like they were in a magazine. The flowers were in a park that I pass every day to drive home. One day after work this past week, I stopped to smell the roses. Well at least take images of pretty flowers!

As I mentioned in my previous post, I LOVE photography. I once had a client ask me, “What will you do when this becomes boring and you don’t like it anymore?” Of course my answer was “Ah, that would never happen. I love it too much!” Well that day did come. Not so much that I stopping loving photography, but I associated my camera with “work”. When I was not on a photography assignment I never took my camera. I missed so many wonderful photo memories for me personally.

After the birth of my grand-daughter, I knew I had to make a change. Now that I have my “g’ma camera” I am again having fun and being more creative in my own life’s photo journal.

Grab your camera- it doesn’t have to be the most expensive or fancy one. Just be sure to take pictures of the moments that make you happy. Be sure to print a few! You will cherish these for a life time.
