Father’s Day 2014

Hi, we went out to eat breakfast for Father’s Day, along with most of the city of Lawrence! Really, the restaurant was packed. My dad told us about this new place not to far from his house. Of all the restaurants in Lawrence, there are not many for sit down breakfast. Mine was really good. Looking forward to going back.

Olive Garden….Delicious!

Hi, what a fun Saturday I had! During the morning we did the final senior session for Suvana. These were just a few in her hometown downtown and at the high school. Then we went out to lunch for a girls day out- Olive Garden. Oh my….my new favorite restaurant!

Saturday was a fun day! Kevin and I ate breakfast at Talette’s in Tonganoxie. The food is delicious and the decor is inviting. I ordered the #1 Calf Roper. The portion was just right. If you ever go through Tonganoxie (just West of The Legends) be sure to stop in and treat yourself to some good home cooking.

After eating we headed over to the local laundry mat. With two busy lives, sometimes it’s just easier to grab the dirty laundry and just do it all at once. Get it done! To our surprise, we had the pleasure of meeting Hazel. She is the laundry mat attendant. As we were walking in she was wiping down the empty washing machines. Every now and then I would see her look our way. You know me, I enjoy talking with people. I asked her, “What’s your name?” She let me have it- first, middle and last. For the life of me, I just remember the first- Hazel.

Hazel is very talkative, fun and inspiring. At 70, her dream is to be a comedian. She had her routine down and gave us a show. We had several good laughs with her. I am glad to say I have a new friend. Looking forward to seeing her again!
