Isa & Carlos Wedding

Hi, this is the first of many for me. The first wedding I was NOT the photographer. The first Mexican wedding I attended. And the first time I truly felt welcomed as a “stranger”. I say stranger because this young couple is a friend of my daughter. I did not know this couple until the wedding events. It is with great pleasure I can say, I have made a new set of friends.

My daughter is the matron of honor, and my grand daughter was one of three girls who helped with the brides train down the isle. The collage above are just a few of the images I was able to capture. I left the big camera at home and used the grandma camera. The camera has limitations, but I am still quite impressed with what I was able to get. No flash, none of my usual equipment. Just the camera and me!

Congratulations Isa & Carlos!

Best Wishes,
debra

Ice Skate Rink

City Fun
City Fun

Christmas is next week! Do you hear the panic in my writing? It’s there. New work position, a second job and no shopping or decorating done. Oh my. These past weeks working in my new position at my full time job is very fast paced. No time to look at the clock and wish quitting time would soon be here. In fact I find myself looking forward to going in early. Friday at 5 I was needing rest. On the way home, I drove past the new library and parking garage. In between the two buildings, the City put in an ice skating rink. Not sure what the flooring is, but it is not ice. Special skates are required. Looking at the kids and adults out on the floor, it looks just like ice skating.

Here is the view to the left and right of the rink.

I needed this little venture. Helped to relieve some of the day’s stress. And it brightened my heart to see these people big and small skating to holiday music. It’s beginning to look and feel alot like Christmas!

Flashback Thursday | 09-18-14

As I was updating the site and writing the About page, a wonderful idea came to mind. I have so many pictures from my first digital camera. So many of the kids I never printed. They were just stashed away on a bookshelf in my office. What fun “Throw back/ Flashback” posts can make? Let’s find out how many smiles I can bring your way! I certainly had a few. Each week I will make a post of images as I sort through my disks. Enjoy!
